Einstein Telescope receives Interreg subsidy

29 nov 2019

The Einstein Telescope is one of the parties that will receive Interreg subsidy following the closure of Call 5. This call closed last week. Our Monitoring Committee selected 6 new projects, including E-TEST.

E-TEST is an important component of Einstein Telescope. It will run an underground study to identify the optimum design and location for the Einstein Telescope. A consortium of 11 partners from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands will run the study. Lead partner of the project is Université de Liège.

E-TEST receives EUR 7.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund. The following regions will contribute co-financing, another EUR 7.5 million in total: the Province of Limburg (NL), the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, Flanders, Flemish Brabant, Wallonia and North Rhine-Westphalia.
