Interreg Euregio Maas-Rhein (EMR) Coordinator Mark Vos: "Energy is an important topic – smart solutions are needed".
In order to support innovative energy projects, the Interreg Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR) programme will launch a special call for projects with a focus on energy. The call is specifically dedicated to increasing the resource efficiency of SMEs. The interested partnerships will have the possibility to submit their application forms via the electronic monitoring system (eMS) starting with the 31 August 2021. Submissions are possible until 21 September, 12 midday. 13 cooperating regional partners are working on the Interreg EMR programme in the border region between Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The programme is the local rendition of the European Union's cross-border funding programme.
Funding
The EUR 5 million of European funding will be complemented by an additional EUR 5 million national and private investments, representing the partners’ own contribution. This Interreg EMR call is open for initiatives that contribute to more efficient use of resources in SMEs with solutions in the fields of green hydrogen, energy communities, the use of low-voltage direct current technology, and the development of local production of technology for integrated photovoltaics. In addition, projects on the exchange of information on energy to stimulate and promote the energy transition and create synergies are also possible.
Call for Projects
The submission of application forms for the energy call is possible from 31 August to 21 September 2021 at 12 noon. For this call, the programme is searching for mature innovative projects that can have a significant impact within 18 months. A budget of 5.000.000 EUR of European funding has been made available for this call. This European funding represents a co-financing of max. 50%. The projects have to provide the other 50% for themselves. In some cases, there may be national co-financing for this contribution available.
